Daoism, Wayne Dyer, and Remembering: I AM God, You Are Source
My first encounter with spiritual truth did not come from a pulpit or a church—but from a gentle, grounded voice on a public television station. That voice was Dr. Wayne Dyer.

It was the early 1990s. I was home recovering from chemotherapy, radiation, and major medical trauma. At a time when I felt weakest. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, I found myself watching a PBS special featuring Dr. Dyer. He was talking about a mystical Chinese text I had never heard of before: the Tao Te Ching, written by Lao Tzu more than 2,500 years ago.
What Wayne Dyer said that day changed the entire course of my life.
He did not teach religion. He did not speak in absolutes. He remembered and helped me remember too. He spoke about the Tao, which is about the way the universe flows. He introduced me to a truth I never heard before or understood due to I was only 13 years old.
He said, “You are not just a human being. You are Source. You are Divine. You are God in expression.”
This was my first true spiritual awakening.

What Is Daoism?

Daoism (or Taoism) is not a religion in the traditional sense. It is a path. A way of living in harmony with the natural flow of life. It teaches that the Tao is the eternal, formless source behind all things. The Tao cannot be seen or touched, but it can be felt. It is the flow of rivers, the softness of water, the silence between thoughts. It is the pulse of the universe, and the essence of who we truly are. In other terms that means the same. It is source, your higher self, God, your inner child, etc.

The teachings of Lao Tzu, recorded in the Tao Te Ching, reveal that surrendering to this natural rhythm, rather than resisting it, is the path to peace, power, and spiritual alignment.
Wayne Dyer and the Tao Te Ching:

Dr. Wayne Dyer lived the Tao. In his book, Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life, he devoted an entire year to living the 81 verses of the Tao Te Ching, one day at a time. Through this process, he helped the world understand what it means to walk with humility, trust, patience, and faith in the unseen.
Through him, I learned that:

-
The softest things (like water) overcome the hardest.
-
Power lies not in control, but in letting go.
-
A wise soul does not compete or boast. but lives in quiet mastery. (Without the EGO)
-
The Tao gives without demanding, loves without conditions, and flows without fear.
"I AM God. You Are God. You Are Source."

These were the words that echoed in my heart after watching Wayne Dyer and studying the Tao. They were not egoic claims. They were spiritual truths that came from deep within. When Wayne said “You are God”, he meant that the same divine essence that created galaxies lives within you. When he said “You are Source”, he reminded us that we are not separate from the universe, but living extensions of it. When he said “I AM God,” he was echoing the same knowing that spiritual masters throughout time have spoken, from Jesus to Krishna to Lao Tzu himself. It was not about worshiping the self. It was about remembering the Self: the divine, eternal essence within. If you go to my list of common names for God. You will see that you are God, you are source, you are your highest self, etc., etc. It is that modern religion took your power away. Especially the Catholic church I grew up as my religion, until I renounced all organized religions. Being told you are not God makes you feel powerless and that is what the powers that be wanted. That did not want you to know thy trueself.
Living the Tao: My Awakening

Wayne Dyer’s teachings and the Taoist way became a foundation for my journey into:

-
Tai Chi and Qi Gong
-
Energy healing and bodywork
-
Kundalini awakening and Light Body embodiment
-
Spiritual remembrance and multidimensional consciousness
Daoism helped me understand that there is a rhythm to the universe. And that I am part of that rhythm. I do not need to force life. I only need to align with it.
Wayne helped me realize that God is not somewhere else. It is not external to me. It is here, now, within me, God is me and is internal to me, it is me, my inner child. I AM GOD. I AM all that is and nobody and take away my power of who I AM. And the more I remembered this, the more my heart opened to compassion, peace, and healing.
Final Reflection

We are not broken beings seeking salvation.
We are divine consciousness remembering ourselves or remembering who we are.
You are not separate from God. You are God.
You are Source or God in human form.
As Wayne said:
“You came from a place of infinite potential. You are God, a piece of God, never separate from God. You are divine.”
And Lao Tzu whispered, centuries ago:

“Knowing others is intelligence. Knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.” Through the Tao and Wayne Dyer’s guidance, I have come to know this power. Not as force, but as flow. Not as dominance, but as divine remembrance.
I AM God.
You are God.
We are One.
With love and light,
Gregory
